Western Concert Guide

Write for us

We welcome pitches that help readers notice how concerts are shaped: a clear explanation of a format, a grounded comparison of listening conditions, a well-sourced piece of concert history or an illuminating account of audience convention.

What makes a strong pitch

Send a focused premise, the question the piece will answer, why it matters to concertgoers and a short outline of the main points. A strong pitch has one distinct subject and a useful reader takeaway; it does not treat every concert as alike or promise access, testing or expertise you do not have.

The work we seek

We favour clear, original writing that explains rather than advertises. Comparisons should name their trade-offs, historical claims should be supportable, and personal experience should be identified as such. We do not accept copied work, undisclosed promotional copy or claims that require professional advice.

How to send a proposal

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your proposed title, a short outline and any relevant links or references in the message. Please do not send a complete article unless requested; a pitch is enough for an initial discussion.

Our point of view

The room is part of the music

A concert is shaped by more than the work being played. We look at the formats, spaces and conventions that affect how audiences hear and understand it.
